We all have scars.
We’re all wounded.
We also have deeply unconscious defence mechanisms to protect these tender places from experiencing more trauma and pain - To stop us from clearly seeing where we’re cut and contracted.
No one gets out of childhood and the earlier years unscathed...
Denying our deeper hurts or pretending we don’t have them is a delusional way of being.
There is no greater form of true self empowerment than to get real with our deepest wounding, and to tend to it in a diplomatic way. Whatever way that happens to be in our unique realities...
If the intention is there to go deep and find resolution, existence will present the opportunities for it to unravel. Paths of healing and integration will open where there were none before.
Life wants us to evolve through our suffering.
It LOVES us to evolve.
It’s the magnificent design of this big game we play, but we have to go through.
Not around, not over, not under, but back through and down into the most uncomfortable parts of ourselves.
We have to KNOW the shadow, OWN the shadow and RECLAIM these disowned parts of ourselves.
When we find the radical self honesty with ourselves and what we’ve got down below in the unconscious realms, a great ease-filled surge of compassion arises to the surface of our lives like a golden healing balm, for ourselves, our close relations and all others in humanities great walk.
It’s the grittiest work there is, but it’s where the deepest capacity for awakening lies in this human experience.
