As humans, generally, we treat out bodies like machines.
It is so healthy to train, to be active, to be burning our energy up in a healthy way. But there can be a fine line between knowing when to exert our energy, and when to let our bodies rest, recuperate and rejuvenate. There is an art form to how we burn our precious energy stocks… We have a headset about us that says ‘you won’t get anywhere unless you get moving and make it happen’ and ‘We can’t take a break or we’ll lose progress’… This can be very productive, an extremely useful motor and trait, but when our bodies are crying out to rest, to relax, and do nothing - the momentum of thoughts and our inability to sit still, mean that the subtle voice of the bodies are drowned out, and we continue moving, working and tiring ourselves out even more. Our bodies, at times, just need a complete break. We treat our bodies as machines, and without awareness of this, it is a subtle form of self abuse. It’s like when you have a week off the gym, or yoga, or whatever floats your boat in that department - and you return and surprise yourself that you actually feel stronger, more energised and a lot more motivated to get amongst it... Maybe you’ve had that feeling? The remembrance of this feeling and the permission to give yourself a break, doesn’t last long though. We often forget how our bodies can repay us if we give them a bit more of a time out when they need it, but we slip back into the busyness of life, that constant pace that can tire us out. How we feed our bodies, what we’re actually putting into our bodies, and what we’re expecting in return CAN be quite ridiculous also… The entropic states of our being need to be listened to, felt and heard, and then be given the space they need to bounce back in their own time. The natural urge for humans is to want to be ‘up n about’, all happy, all joy, all high vibe - we resist the inward cycle, the flat spots, where we have no energy, and instead of surrendering into those spaces and times, we fill them with activity and distraction… We are told to aim for the high vibes, positive thinking, all that, and thats all good, but when it comes time to withdraw, respect what is happening to you in that time. You cannot be high vibe all the time - what goes up, must come down, eventually… We push outwards when all of the higher and worldly forces are screaming for us to collapse in, and we burn the already depleted energy stocks, which means that the level of exhaustion increases, the cumulative burn out, and down time needed to recoup actually lasts longer. If we just surrender in those times, nurture up, give ourselves the rest, from our work, even (sometimes mostly) the time and space from other humans - whatever it is we need to to put ourselves first - we can bounce back a lot quicker. If it wasn’t for those collective belief systems that tell us the exact opposite is true, we might just be having an easier run! We live in a world of pulses. Our energy is pulsing in and out in waves, constantly. The more inward we allow ourselves to go on the inward wave - the more rest we allow - the more outward we can expand on the outward pulse, giving us more energy, more freshness, more thrust, and more grounded power that is in alignment with the universal flow... If we don’t heed the signs, we keep on pushing, and pushing and pushing, and life’s got a way of stopping us in our tracks... An ‘accident’, an injury, a sickness, a blowout of some description that may not even had to happen if we just gave ourselves a break. Where could you give yourself a bit more complete rest, love and nurture in your world? Do you have resistance to actually closing off and giving yourself some real YOU time? WITHOUT being constantly plugged into the online world… Where are pushing to ‘make things happen’? When a bit more surrender and trust just might make the space and allow for things to organically move through and transform in front of your eyes in a way you couldn’t imagine before? Good week to find out as we journey through this 1st Genetic Archetype, from the Shadow of Entropy, into the Gift of Freshness, so we can really enjoy the BEAUTY of this life. As nature intended… A slow nature, that rewards a slower paced, pause filled, life. Injoy the inquiry :) Comments are closed.
